Mahindra Marazzo Commands Waiting Period Of Up To 1.5 Months

The recently launched Mahindra Marazzo MPV is commanding a waiting period of up to 45 days on select variants, Prices start at Rs 9.99 lakh

The Mahindra Marazzo MPV, which was launched at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh earlier this month, seems to be attracting many buyers. The latest MPV from the country’s popular UV maker is currently the most modern vehicle in the company’s line-up. Dealers are reportedly quoting a waiting period of 30 to 45 days on the delivery of the new model.

Mahindra and Mahindra is said to be hoping to sell 4,000 units of its new model every month. By the arrival of the FY2018, the company could target monthly sales of 7,000 units. It will ramp up the production of the new model based on the demand for its new MPV.

In August, Dr PawanGoenka, the Managing Director of Mahindra and Mahindra’s automotive division, had said that the company hopes a combined monthly sales of 8,500 units from the newly launched Marazzo, the upcoming XUV700, and the S201 compact SUV.

The Mahindra MarazzoMPV is powered by a 1.5-litre mHawk turbocharged diesel engine that offers a max. power of 121 bhp at 3,500 rpm and a peak torque of 300 Nm between 1,750 rpm and 2,500 rpm. The motor comes paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The possibility of an AMT can’t be ruled out at the moment. The company could be even planning to launch a petrol version of this MPV. The new model has an ARAI-certified fuel efficiency of 17.3 kmpl.

The Mahindra MarazzoMPV has a ladder-on-frame chassis with an unconventional transversely mounted engine that powers the front wheels. Known as ‘Best of both worlds’, this patented architecture helps the company keep a low floor height and a flat floor whilst maintaining the robustness of a ladder-frame setup.

As per the company, the new Mahindra Marazzo MPV has the best-in-segment NVH control along with high refinement levels. As per the company, the cabin has just 43 decibels of sound at a low idle. This lets the new model offer a really quite in-cabin experience to its occupants.

The shark-inspired design of the new MPV is the result of joint efforts by Mahindra’s Kandivali-based design centre and renowned Italian design house Pininfarina. The new model is the company’s first product to be jointly developed by Mahindra North American Technical Centra (MNATC) in Michigan, USA and Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai, India. The MahidnraMarazzo MPV is on sale in a price bracket of Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 13.90 lakh. The new model will rival the upcoming new generation MarutiErtiga.
