The automatic variant of Marazzo will be launched around BSVI deadline as they are waiting for government to introduce new emission norms
Mahindra officially launched Marazzo MPV in India at Rs. 9.99 Lakh (Ex-Showroom, Pan India) yesterday and it is currently available with manual gearbox only. But the automatic segment in India is growing at a good rate as customers prefer them for the convenience and modern units give same mileage and performance as their manual counterpart.
Pawan Goenka, Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra, confirmed during the launch that automatic variant of Marazzo will be introduced around BSVI deadline, as they are waiting for government to introduce new emission norms and the new transverse mounted 1.5 L diesel engine is already BSVI complaint.
We can expect the gearbox to be a new 6 speed unit, which will be introduced in other models also. The 1.5 L four-cylinder diesel engine produces 123 PS of power at 3,500 rpm and 302 Nm of torque at 1,600 rpm. The manual model returns 17.6 kmpl and the light powertrain tips the scale at just 141.13 kg.
The Marazzo is the first product developed by Mahindra North American Technical Centre (MNATC) along with Mahindra Research Valley (MRV) in Chennai. The design of Marazzo takes inspiration from shark and it is one of the best looking MPVs in the market. Even though it is based on ladder frame chassis they have managed to give stability of monocoque models.
The MPV is available in 7 or 8 seat configuration with excellent space for 2nd and 3rd row passengers. The second row seat can slide forward or backward and recline to give extra comfort. The Marazzo comes with ‘aircraft inspired’ roof mounted surround AC vents as it will cool cabin faster than conventional AC vents.
Mahindra has given lots of features for Marazzo like 7 inch touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto, climate control, alloy wheels, second row sun shade, projector headlamps, reverse camera with parking sensors, purple instrument cluster and more. The company has also focused on safety as all variants come with dual airbag, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist and ISOFIX child mounts.
