Mahindra to hike the price of Marazzo and XUV500 by Rs. 40,000, the updated price comes to effect from January onwards

January is a favourite month for auto manufacturers as most of them have announced price hike and the latest one to join the lineup is Mahindra as they are planning to increase the price of both Marazzo and XUV500 by Rs. 40,000 from January onwards. The price hike for Marazzo is between Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 40,000 depending on variants.

Both XUV500 and Marazzo are popular among customers as the former got an update earlier this year and the later was introduced in the second half of 2018. The Marazzo is a completely new product as it is based on new front wheel drive platform with a transverse mounted engine and the company has given body on ladder frame for extra rigidity.

The exterior design theme of Marazzo took inspirations from shark according to Mahindra as the front get new grille along with swept back projector headlamps with a new bumper and integrated fog lamps also. The MPV gets a black plastic cladding running across the body and new machine-cut alloy wheels go well with the overall design.

The rear design is simple with a new set of tail lamps and a chrome bar between them. The company has also given an integrated spoiler. The interior design of Marazzo is different from other Mahindra models as the dashboard gets a modern theme. The MPV gets three spoke multi-function steering wheel and new instrument cluster.

One of the unique features of Marazzo is a flight like air-con vents, which cool the cabin easily and the MPV comes with good space on all three rows. The Marazzo is loaded with features like touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, leather upholstery, reverse camera and more.

The MPV also comes with safety features like dual airbags, ABS and EBD as standard. Currently, the Marazzo is available with a newly developed 1.5 L BSVI ready engine producing 121 hp of power at 3,500 rpm and 300 Nm of torque between 1,750 rpm – 2,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and an automatic along with petrol engine join in 2020.
