Mahindra KUV100 and TUV300 to get regular updated models as a strategy to further improve their sales performance

Mahindra & Mahindra seems to be planning to introduce more special variants of its existing models in order to lure more foot falls into its nationwide showrooms. The largest SUV manufacturer in the country is struggling of late with its sales numbers and has lost considerable market share to Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai as they stepped up their game with Vitara Brezza subcompact SUV and Creta respectively.

Mahindra will likely be trying to squeeze more out of the KUV100 micro-SUV and the TUV 300 sub-4m SUV. Both models were rolled out with plenty of anticipation, while they had good initial starts sales wise, they slowly began dropping behind rivals. Consistent upgrades and refreshes meant, Mahindra is planning to get the most out of the popularity in their respective segments according to recent reports.

Mahindra KUV100 Achieves 50,000 Sales Milestone in Just 15 Months

In an interview with Moneycontrol, a Mahindra spokesman aware of the matter said, the brand’s maiden voyage in the promising spaces that KUV and TUV reside in will be further explored courtesy of the regular updated models with cosmetic changes and feature additions.

The Mahindra KUV100 had a monthly target of 5,000 units while the EcoSport rivalling TUV300 had its bar set at 3,500 units. However, the former could only manage under 3,000 deliveries per month and the latter was even disappointing with an approximate 2,200 units of average monthly sales.

Following the market launch in July 2015, the TUV300 received the mHawk 100 diesel engine almost a year later. In August 2016, Mahindra announced the addition of Bronze Green colour option before a dual-tone exterior choice came into existence a couple of months later. We have already showed you the spy pictures of the extended wheelbase TUV300 testing.

Expected to be dubbed as TUV500, it is expected to launch sometime later this year. Celebrating a year since it entered the domestic space, Mahindra revealed an Anniversary Edition of the KUV100 at the beginning of this year. It featured two-tone exterior and all-black interior alongside Sporty and Premium accessory kits.
