Mahindra JIVO tractor aims to grab good share in horticulture machinery sector; will be available in market from 25th April
Mahindra is known for its ambition to grab a good share in the horticulture equipment sector. The company has been making tractors for quite some time. While it has been producing large and powerful tractors in form of NOVO and YUVO, now the company has launched the all-new JIVO small tractor, positioned under the 30 hp segment. The new tractor comes priced between Rs. 3.90 lakh and Rs. 4.05 lakh (ex-showroom, Maharashtra).
Mahindra says that it aims to offer the farmers a compact and powerful option through the JIVO platform. Interestingly, the narrow and compact design of the JIVO makes the tractor different looking than its competitors. Thanks to its narrow turning radius, this tractor is an ideal machine for using in vineyard spraying or harvesting sugarcane and cotton.
The Mahindra JIVO comes equipped with a 4WD system, Automatic Depth and Draft Control. Mahindra & Mahindra also plans to launch a 2WD variant, which is expected to hit the market in September this year. The newly launched Mahindra JIVO comes powered by a 24 hp generating 1.4-litre engine and the Power Take-Off is 22 hp. The tractor can lift a load of 750 kg and Mahindra claims it will offer impressive fuel efficiency.
A very interesting feature of the Mahindra JIVO small tractor is the DiGi SENSE, but it is available in the higher variant 245 DI. This technology lets the enables the owner of the vehicle to remotely track the tractor from smartphone in real time. Also, this technology also informs the owner about battery related, engine or any other maintenance related problem.
