XUV500 will be the first Mahindra car to receive Apple CarPlay and Android Auto; other models will get the same as well
Mahindra is preparing to introduce the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in its cars in near future. The first Mahindra model to receive the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be the brand’s current flagship SUV XUV500. Later on, other models would receive the same. While the Indian automaker is exploring ways to make its cars more attractive in terms of design, introduction of such feature will enhance appeal of the Mahindra vehicles further.
Mahindra is currently working with two of its subsidiaries, South Korean auto major SsangYong and Italian famous design house Pininfarina. The largest SUV maker of India has been always known for making powerful and capable utility vehicles, but in terms of aesthetics, the Mahindra cars lacked style compared to several other models from different brands.

The automaker has always emphasised on the practicality of its cars. But, with the changed scenario, Mahindra is preparing to launch more stylish design and more unique technology in its cars. Future vehicles from the brand are expected to come following the latest strategy. As Pininfarina is designing the future Mahindra cars, the automaker is sharing technology, product features and platform with the Korean brand SsangYong.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are two features available in almost all the products across the different auto manufacturer’s portfolios except the entry level models. Mahindra being a major brand in the country’s car market and having global aspiration, couldn’t ignore the trend. So, the company has decided to introduce the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in its cars. After the XUV500, Scorpio is expected to get the tech.
