Mahindra BE.05 has been spotted testing on Indian roads along with the upcoming XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 electric SUVs. The BE.05 is slated to launch in October 2025
Indian auto manufacturer Mahindra is testing its upcoming electric SUVs, the XUV.e8, XUV.e9 and the BE.05. The Mahindra BE.05 all-electric SUV recently spied testing in Mumbai, covered in heavy camouflage. In latest spy shots, the BE.05 seems to be production-ready, highlighting a few exterior details.
As confirmed by the brand earlier, the all-electric BE.05 is slated to launch in October 2025 in the Indian market. Recent spy pictures suggest that the front fascia will sport a blanked-off grille, large air intakes and sleeker-looking LED DRLs connected via a light bar.
The side profile is flanked by squared-off wheel arches, rear door handles are mounted at the pillar and a sloping roof line. At the rear, the BE.05 is equipped with chunkier rear bumper, split rear spoiler, C-shaped LED tail-lamps with turn indicators and a raked windscreen.
Earlier spy shots have revealed the cabin of Mahindra BE.05. It will come equipped with a floating centre console, a twin-spoke steering wheel with illuminated ‘BE’ logo, and a dual-screen setup for a touchscreen infotainment display and an instrument panel. Furthermore, it will sport newly-designed grab handles.
Built on Mahindra’s latest INGLO platform, the BE.05 electric SUV will be available in 2WD and 4WD powertrain options. The 2WD model uses a Volkswagen-sourced rear axle-mounted electric motor, churning out a peak power of 286 hp and a max torque of 535 Nm. Meanwhile, the 4WD variant will utilize the front-axle mounted motor, producing 109 hp power and 135 Nm torque. As this variant will use dual motor setup, the cumulative system output is yet to be known.
Mahindra BE.05 will get a 79 kWh battery pack with LFP cells, which will be juiced up from 0 to 80 percent in just half an hour. The company claims that these LFP cells have high energy density and slow discharge rate. Upon launch, the BE.05 will be positioned above the XUV400 electric SUV. The Mahindra BE.05 will be a strong competitor to the Tata Curvv EV, expected to launch this year only.
