Mahindra 150cc Motorcycle was spoken about last year, Auto expo debut of this motorcycle is most likely to happen
Mahindra is all set to enter all the premium motorcycle categories one after the other. After 110cc scooter and motorcycle and 125cc scooter and 300cc Mojo, as promised when the MTWL was being formed, they said they would come into each category and take a market share with their niche product.
150cc segment is always high on adrenaline with new launches happening in the segment one after the other with either neck to neck competition or commuter budget motorcycles to right from 150cc sport and track focused motorcycle, the segment has it all.
Mahindra now wants a piece of pie in this segment and has clearly said a 150cc segment motorcycle is coming. It could be the earlier said 160cc motorcycle or the 150cc engine that Mahindra has said be developed is almost production ready. The engine one highlight which has been leaked is that the engine is going to be emission norm compliant and is BSIV engine, just like the Honda CB Hornet 160R. Other manufacturer will comply in the future or already are in the case of Bajaj.
Mahindra’s 150 or 160cc is most likely to come with 14-15 PS of power and will make around the same torque as it is segment requirement today. The engine should be will fuel efficient and given the history of scooter and motorcycles that Mahindra is making in terms of chassis it should be good fun to ride too.
Expect some out of the box styling and a set of features for this as well along with the current and existing features that the brand has. Auto Expo debut in concept form is most likely to happen and if that does, the segment is all set to get crowded as every manufacturer has a refreshed or a brand new model in this highly competitive segment.
