Renault Triber will be based on the same platform as Kwid and the MPV is likely to be powered by 1.0 L petrol engine with 68 PS

Renault is going to launch the much-awaited Triber MPV in July in India. The Triber is based on the CMF-A platform of the Kwid as both models are expected to share lots of components to help the company to price the model aggressively. The MPV has been spotted ion public roads multiple times.

IndianAutosBlog has published a rendering of Triber production model and the upcoming MPV will measure under four meters to get excise duty benefits. The engine bay is short as the French manufacturer wants to offer maximum interior space as possible. The Triber gets a black plastic cladding on the lower portion around the body.

The headlamps are slightly bigger and extend towards the side. The company has given a new character line, which starts behind the headlamps and goes all the way towards the rear. The front and second-row windows are bigger, which give an airy feel to the cabin while the rear glass area is small and the third row is likely to be best suited for kids.

The overall ground clearance of Triber will be similar to other MPVs and the company has given faux skid plates at front and rear. Renault is also expected to offer silver finished roof rails and the exterior features on the MPV include projector headlamps, fog lamps, alloy wheels, parking sensors and an integrated spoiler.

The interior is expected to take design inspiration from the Kwid as some parts will be shared to cut the cost down and the instrument cluster is likely to be a part digital unit. The Triber is likely to be packed with features like touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control system, keyless entry, push-button start and more.

The safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, speed alert, seat belt alert for driver and passenger and rear parking sensors. The Triber is expected to be powered by 1.0 L petrol engine with 68 PS of power and 91 Nm, mated to a manual gearbox and the company is likely to introduce a turbocharged version later.
