The rewards for 30 member team will cost more than a million sterling pounds

Giving reward after a big win in the world of football is not big deal. But each member of an entire football team getting a Mercedes Benz B-Class Electric Drive as the reward is something you don’t get to hear every day, right? Well, Leicester City winning the Premier League is also none would have expected as the biggest fairy-tale in British sporting history unfolded this season.

Yes, you read it right. Leicester City owner Thai business tycoon Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha will give reward to each of the 30 members of the Premier League title winning squad, by gifting them Mercedes Benz B-Class Electric Drive. Each of the cars comes with an on-road price of 32,670 pounds sterling. So far, the club owner will spend more than a million pound sterling pounds to gift the footballers the brand new cars. Apart from that, Leicester City team has been promised an all expense paid trip to Las Vegas and 6.5 million of prize money will be shared between them.

The Mercedes B-Class Electric Drive was developed under the Mercedes Benz BlueZERO project. The Electric Drive was showcased at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, 2013 New York International Auto Show and later at 2013 IAA International Motor Show. Commercial production began in April 2014 in the German automaker’s Rastatt plant.

The Mercedes Benz B-Class Electric Drive uses a 36 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which is sourced from the American electric automaker Tesla. The battery pack generates power for the electric motor, which churns out 136 PS of peak power. This electric car comes with a cruising range of 200 kilometers with a fully charged battery. The top speed for the car is 150 kmph. The batteries of the Mercedes Benz B-Class Electric Drive car can be charged at any domestic standard 230 V power outlets or any 400 V rapid charging terminals. Last year in USA more than 1,900 Mercedes Benz B-Class Electric Drive cars were sold.
