Atleast 8 new cars launching next month from entry level hatchback to Toyota Fortuner/Ford Endeavour rival

The month of October 2018 will definitely be a month full of new car launches. Automakers target this particular month because October also happens to be the festive month and obviously, people look to get their hands on new things including vehicles. Like every other year, this October 2018 will also bring a lot of new surprises for the buyers in the form of 7 completely new car launches.

Yes! You read that right car maker like Ford, Honda, Tata, Datsun, and many others will be launching their own products soon.  We have provided you the list of 8 new cars which will be launching this October 2018.

1. Ford Aspire facelift

Launch date: 4th Oct
Expected Price : 5.49 Lakh 

Ford Aspire Facelift Revealed, Exterior, Interior

Ford will be introducing their facelift sub-4m Aspire sedan on 4th of October 2018. The booking for the new sedan has commenced already. The Indian spec Aspire although is slightly smaller in dimension than International spec which is launched in markets like South Africa and Brazil but looks identical to the International spec car.

The Ford Aspire facelift will be getting new cosmetic updates to its exterior which will come in the form of a new front face. The facelift sedan front’s profile gets a redesigned grille and headlamps while the side profile will feature newly designed alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, the Aspire sedan gets a redesigned dashboard featuring a new infotainment system.

However, the biggest change that you will notice will be under the hood. The facelift sedan will now be powered by the1.2-litre Ti-VCT petrol engine producing 96PS of power and 120 Nm of torque and is the same unit which powers the Freestyle. The diesel unit will continue to be powered by the same 1.5 Litre unit producing 100 Ps and 215 Nm of torque. Both the engines will be powered by a 5-speed manual transmission.          

2. Honda CRV

Launch date: 9th Oct
Expected Price : 24.99 Lakh

Honda will be introducing the new generation CR-V in India on 9th of October. The latest generation CR-V is larger than its predecessor in dimension and gets a third-row passenger seat for the first time. There is one another thing which makes the new CR-V more practical is that it will also be offered with a diesel engine for the very first time.

Powering the new diesel variant is the 1.6 Litre unit from Honda’s Earth Dreams engine family. This power mill generates 120hp of power and 300Nm of torque and will be paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters and all-wheel drive. The petrol engine on offer will be the same 2.0 Litre unit producing 154 hp and 189Nm of torque which is almost identical to what the Hyundai Tucson’s 2.0 Litre petrol SUV generates.

In terms of overall features expect the soon to be launched SUV to get plenty of modern equipment inside the cabin including a new 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

3. Tata Tiago JTP

Launch Date: 10Th Oct
Expected Price : 6.25 Lakh

Tata Motors has confirmed that they will be launching the hot hatch version of the Tiago during the festive season. The Tiago JTP will also be the most affordable hot hatch that you can buy in India and if we are not too wrong will be priced way lower than its closest rival the Baleno RS.

Hot hatch means more power and to stay true to that tag Tata will be powering the Tiago JTP by a turbocharged variant of the 1.2 Litre Revotron engine which is expected to generate 110bhp and 150Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox and is the same unit which powers the Tata Nexon as well.

Besides the new engine, the Tiago TJP will get some mere performance updates in the form of stiffer suspension, dual-tip exhausts, larger wheels, lowered ride height and slightly bigger air intakes. You can expect the hot hatchback to also look different from the standard Tiago variant.

4. Isuzu MUX Facelift

Launch date: 16th October
Expected Price : 26.99 Lakh

Isuzu will be taking the covers off the MUX facelift next month. Unfortunately, the 2019 Isuzu MUX has not received any major update on its exterior as well as interior while there are no changes under the hood as well. The facelift MUX will replace the current SUV which is on sale in the market.

The updated MUX received some minor cosmetic updates which include updated projector headlamp unit with LED DRL lamps, a revised grille, and updated bumper design. Apart from the changes to the front profile, the SUV will also feature a new set of alloy wheels. Towards the rear profile the SUV gets revised taillamps and bumper.

Under the hood, the SUV will continue with the same 3.0-litre diesel engine which powers the current SUV. This engine produces 176PS of peak power and 380Nm of torque. The diesel mill is paired to a 5-speed sequential automatic gearbox. The MUX  will be available with both 2WD and 4WD variant.

5. Datsun Go / 6. Go Plus facelift

Launch Date: Mid-October
Expected Price : 3.59 Lakh

Datsun is a budget car brand owned by Nissan although they are not quite popular amongst the crowd that does not stop them from trying their luck. We are not totally sure but some reports state that Datsun will most probably launch a facelift variant of the GO and GO+ hatchback this October.

The Datsun GO hatchback was introduced back in 2013 while the seven-seat GO+ was introduced in 2015 but haven’t received any major updates since then. The upcoming duo is expected to receive their biggest update since their launch. You can expect the Datsun GO and GO+ facelift to continue with the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing 67 Bhp and 104 Nm of torque paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.

7. Mahindra XUV700

Launch Date: October 20th (Expected)
Expected Price : 26 Lakh

Mahindra and Mahindra are all set to launch plenty of new vehicles in India within the next couple of months but their most anticipated launch is the new premium offering the XUV700. Although Mahindra has not finalized the final name for this upcoming SUV but it is known as Y400 internally.

The U\Y400 will be a full sized 7 seater SUV which is actually localized version of the Ssangyong Rexton G4 which was showcased at the Mahindra stands earlier at the Auto Expo.

The upcoming SUV will pack a powerful 2.2-litre petrol engine capable of producing 220 bhp of power and 225 Nm torque and a 2.2-litre diesel engine producing 185 bhp power and 420 Nm torque. The engine will be paired to a new 7-speed automatic transmission which will be sourced from Mercedes Benz.

Apart from a new rugged exterior styling, the SUV will also get plenty of premium features including a sunroof, premium leather seats and a completely new touchscreen infotainment system equipped with apple car play and Android Auto Connectivity system. The new SUV will take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Honda CR-V, and Ford Endeavour.

8. Hyundai Santro

Launch Date: October 23rd
Expected Price : 3.8 Lakh

Hyundai will be launching a new hatchback on 23rd October 2018. Codenamed AH20 the newest hatchback will most probably replace the existing Eon hatch. Although not much information is available at this moment but you can expect it to probably sport a similar kind of tall boy design which we have seen earlier in the Santro and the Eon.

The upcoming hatchback will most probably be also powered by a modern iteration of the old 1.1 Litre petrol engine which used to power the Santro hatchback. Keeping in mind Hyundai’s recent product strategy expect the new generation hatchback to get a sporty and stylish exterior styling while expecting the same level of details inside the cabin as well.

The new hatchback uses Hyundai i10’s HA platform which is rigid and robust in nature and thus expect it to be an exceptionally well handling hatch. Unlike the Eon and the old Santro, you can expect the new hatchback to come loaded with plenty of safety features which might include Dual front airbags, ABS and rear parking sensors. Hyundai announced that they will be revealing the name of the upcoming hatchback on October 9th.
