Tata Hexa Tata Hexa was displayed in its production ready avatar at 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo. Despite being a heavily reworked version of the Aria, the Hexa surely brings a fresh look. The car incorporates design inputs with suggestion from Jaguar Land Rover. It has been designed following Tata Motors’ latest IMPACT design language. Once launched, it will sit on top of the Tata Motors product line-up. Tata Hexa features sharp headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, piano black finished aggressive front grille. The front bumper looks chunky, and boasts large air intake, unusual shaped fog lamps, and a skid plate emphasizing the off-road worthy capability of Hexa. At the side profile, Hexa receives muscular side body cladding, aggressive alloy wheels, blackened glass area. The rear fascia receives wraparound LED taillights, a sleek chrome bar between two taillights, and a beefy bumper incorporating twin rectangular exhaust vents. So far, the car looks appealing with its muscular tone. Dimensionally, Tata Hexa measures around 4,764mm in length, 1,895mm in width and 1,780mm in height and a wheelbase of 2,850mm. The interior of Hexa looks premium, and it is very much clear that, this car has taken inspiration from Land Rover vehicles. It can accommodate six occupants in a 2+2+2 seating layout, and offers spacious and comfortable experience to the occupants. Interior sports multifunction steering wheel, dual pod instrument panel with a digital MID. The centre console features a touchscreen infotainment system. The cabin also features ambient lighting, captain seats, which give it an upmarket feel. Power source for Tata Hexa is the same 2.2-litre VARICOR 400 diesel engine, which does duty in Tata Safari Storme as well. This engine churns out 154.2 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm of peak torque between 1,700 rpm and 2,700 rpm, with a fuel economy of 13 kmpl. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearbox. Launch date: Late October Expected price: Rs. 13.5 lakh – Rs. 18 lakh Hyundai Tucson Hyundai displayed the 2016 Tucson at 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo in February, and the car is ready to launch this October in India. Once launched, it will be positioned between Santa Fe and Creta in Hyundai’s India line-up. The upmarket and aggressive looking car is expected to launch on 24th October. The Tucson made its world premiere at 2015 Geneva Motor Show, and it garnered positive response since unveiling. Designed following the South Korean automaker’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language. Hyundai Tucson sports a chunky hexagonal front grille, while the projector headlamps come complemented by LED daytime running light. The front bumper looks muscular as well, and a skid plate is there, which emphasizes on its toughness. At the side profile Tucson features sharp character lines, sporty alloy wheels. The rear fascia boasts a shark fin antenna, roof spoiler wrap around sharp taillights, beefy bumper. Dimensionally, Hyundai Tucson measures 4,475mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,655mm in height and a wheelbase of 2,670mm, while it also gets a 513-litres of bootspace. Interior of Hyundai Tucson features three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual tone dashboard. Apart from that, the cabin offers generous space to the occupants, while ventilated and heated seats enhance upmarket feel. Tucson comes with several safety features equipped, which include 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, engine immobilizer, Lane Departure Warning System, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Park Assist etc. On the powertrain front Hyundai Tucson is available in both petrol and diesel engine options. It gets a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine available in two different power output options in the international market. The diesel engine options include a 1.7-litre unit and a 2.0-litre unit which generates power in two different tunes. At 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo Hyundai showcased Tucson with a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol unit and a smaller 1.0-litre engine as well. Transmission options for this car include 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Launch date: 24th October Expected price: Rs. 17 lakh – Rs. 21 lakh Honda Brio Facelift Honda Brio is all set to be launched in its facelift avatar in a few days. The Japanese automaker will launch facelifted version of the popular hatchback on 4th October. The facelift version shares the design elements with Honda Amaze facelift, which was launched earlier this year. Apart from a revised front fascia, upcoming Honda Brio facelift also receives a revised interior. The front fascia of the upcoming Honda Brio facelift looks sportier compared to the outgoing model. Headlamps remain intact, but front grille has been changed. It sports a thick chrome bar, and front bumper also has been revised. It dons a large air intake and faux air dams at both sides. So far, the car’s front fascia looks much more appealing than the outgoing model. Apart from that, there are no visible changes at exterior. The alloy wheel design is intact, while at rear roof spoiler, taillight design is also unchanged. Dimensionally too, Honda Brio facelift is identical to its predecessor. Inside the cabin Honda Brio facelift features some updates. The new Brio gets a new dashboard, which is shared with Honda Amaze facelift and Honda BR-V. The interior dons a black theme combined with sleek chrome trims. It also features a multifunction three-spoke steering wheel, updated instrument cluster with digital MID, a sharp looking centre console with 2-DIN audio system. While exterior and interior of upcoming Honda Brio features updates, the powertrain of the car is has been retained without any update at all. Like its predecessor Honda brio facelift also takes power from 1.2-litre i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. Power output remains same as well, as he engine churns out 87 bhp of peak power and 109 Nm of peak torque. Honda could offer a CVT with this car in the facelifted version alongside the manual transmission. Launch date: 4th October Expected price: Rs. 4.5 lakh – Rs. 7 lakh Mahindra e2o (4-door) Mahindra e2o is a 2-door small hatchback driven by fully electric powertrain. Now, the Indian automaker is preparing to launch a four-door version of the e2o, which is expected to launch in October. The four-door version simply enhances the practicality of e2o electric hatchback. Test mules of upcoming four-door Mahindra e2o have been spotted several times, and it bears similar silhouette like its two-door sibling, with distinct features although. Due to additional doors, upcoming Mahindra e2o looks longer than its two-door sibling. Apart from that, the car receives new LED taillights and high mounted LED stop-lamp. The front and rear bumpers are also revised in the upcoming model, while the wheel covers have been updated as well. Interior of the upcoming four-door hatchback is expected to receive some extra features compared to the two-door version. A digital instrument cluster, central infotainment system and App-Connect would come as extra features in the upcoming model. Apart from that, the e2o gets power-steering, electric ORVMs, etc. The outgoing model gets power from an electric motor combined with 48V lithium-ion battery pack. The electric powertrain churns out 25 bhp peak power at 3,750 rpm and 54 Nm of peak torque in between 0 and 3,400 rpm. The Mahindra e20 can avail a top speed of 81 kmph, and with a fully charged battery the car can run up to 120km. It is not confirmed yet, but the upcoming four-door version could get a larger battery pack, which will enable it to run extra distance. Outgoing model is available in two variants, T0 and T2, with priced at Rs. 5.96 lakh and Rs. 8.41 lakh. The upcoming model is expected to come priced bit higher, in between Rs. 7 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh. Launch date: October Expected price: Rs. 7 lakh – Rs. 10 lakh Honda Accord Honda Accord is preparing to launch in India in last week of this October. It was displayed at 2016 New Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year, and the car surely comes with a very stylish appearance. It’s the ninth generation Honda Accord, and with this model Accord is making a comeback to India. Earlier, in 2013 Accord was discontinued due to decreasing sales. Booking for new Honda Accord has been started already, and it has already garnered quite interest from customers. The new generation Honda Accord features a stylish and elegant appearance. It sports sleek LED headlamps, thick chrome bar with Honda logo, and a beefy front bumper. The car also bears aggressive alloy wheels, chrome finished door handles at the side profile; while rear fascia sports wrap around large taillights and chrome elements. So far, the car looks premium with its appearance. Interior of the new generation Honda Accord also bears the premium feel. It is equipped with multifunction steering wheel, sleek instrument cluster, dual touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Also the interior sports rain sensing wipers, seats with heating option. Expect the cabin to don an attractive colour theme as well. It features several safety features as well, which could include 6-airbags, Adaptive Cruise Control, High Beam Assist, Forward Collision Warning, parking sensors front and rear, Lane Departure Warning systems etc. Upcoming Honda Accord is expected to receive both petrol only and a hybrid powertrain options. The petrol variant takes power from a 2.4-litre i-VTEC engine, which churns out 185 bhp of peak power and 245 Nm of peak torque. Transmission duty in this variant will be done by a 6-speed manual gearbox, while a possibility of a CVT is also there. The hybrid variant receives power from a 2.0-litre engine combined with a 124 kW AC Synchronous Permanent Magnet electric motor, which together generates 196 bhp of peak power and 306 Nm of peak torque.
