Here we have compiled a list of the Top Ten Selling Cars in October 2015 Maruti Suzuki has dominated the proceedings yet again ending up in the top four positions with Alto leading the way at 22,861 units ahead of Swift Dzire, Swift hatchback and Wagon-R. Hyundai has certainly made its presence felt once again with the arrival of its compact-SUV Creta whilst Grand i10 and i20 are still being sold in hefty numbers. Honda City & Amaze have also made it thus 4 Maruti, 3 Hyundai, 2 Honda & one Mahindra model mark their presence in the Top 10 Selling Car list for October. 10. Honda Amaze - 6971 Units Despite languishing at the bottom of the table, Honda Amaze sedan has had a roller-coaster of a year in terms of sales figures topped off by over 8,000 sold cars in March. Compared to October 2014, twelve months on, the Japanese manufacturer doubled the number of selling units with 6,971. It's worth noting that Amaze led the way for the fourth largest auto manufacturer in the country this September when Honda retailed a total of 19,291 units, a significant jump in the overall sales figure to 23% compared to the same time last year. Moreover, Honda has introduced a new variant in Amaze’s line-up above its top most trim lately. 9. Honda City - 7022 Units Not letting go of its younger cousin is the Honda City with 7,022 units sold in October. In comparison to Amaze, however, the City has a steady selling figure across the year. The consistency runs deep with a difference of 1,902 more units being sold relative to last October. Since launching in January 2014, the fourth generation Honda City and the much-awaited i-DTEC diesel engine variants haven't disappointed the loyalists if the stats are anything to go by. 8. Hyundai Creta - 7225 units The first of the Hyundai on our top ten selling list is the alluring Creta SUV. The initial buzz created by the utility vehicle that goes up against established rivals Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano, Ford EcoSport and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross are nowhere to fade away any time sooner. Hyundai first-ever compact SUV in India, the Creta, has got off to a momentous start with over 63,000 bookings till the end of October. And with an average monthly sales of over 7,000 units, it has been quite a revelation within four-month of its launch. The waiting period of some of the variants went over six months compelling the South Korean company to ramp up its monthly production rate from 5,000 to 7,000 cars. 7. Mahindra Bolero - 7754 units The only Mahindra featuring on our list is its SUV offering Bolero with a total of 7,754 units sold in October. Nonetheless, it was more that 1,300 units down in relation to the sales statistics of the same month last year. It has beaten Hyundai Creta by a narrow margin as the top-selling SUV after losing this honour earlier in August. In the last three months, number of Mahindra Boleros sold are 18,143 units against a total of 21,982 units of Hyundai Creta retailed in the same period. Meanwhile, Mahindra TUV300 has already outsmarted Ford EcoSport by over 1,100 units in the month of October in a stunning fashion. 6. Hyundai I20 - 11019 units Hyundai i20 has always been a mainstay in the sales charts by selling over 10,000 units every month since February. Hovering at a little over 11,000 units - 2,123 up on 2014 October - the comparison gives a clear indication of the strides the company has made since i20 Elite graced the showrooms in September last term. The Elite i20, with it’s premium styling, high-quality interiors and plethora of equipment has become a popular choice in its segment against the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift and Volkswagen Polo. 5. Hyundai Grand I10 - 14079 units Leading Hyundai's charge on the sales table is Grand i10, an attractively styled hatchback with no-nonsense attitude. At a rise of 5,679 units when compared to October 2014 stats, the entry level hatchback was sold at a blistering pace: 14,079 of them in total just in October. The Hyundai Grand i10 comes with both petrol and diesel engines with the petrol getting both manual and automatic gearboxes. It offers great value for money considering all the options and gadgets that come along whilst being frugal with the Kappa and CRDI Turbocharged engines available. 4. Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R - 14734 units Unsurprisingly, the top four positions were a complete sweep by Maruti Suzuki models with Wagon R coming home fourth in an almost similar sales figure to what was seen last October. At 14,734 units sold in October, Maruti Suzuki has recently launched a limited edition model, Avanche, priced at 4.30lakh eyeing an even bigger sales target during festival season. As the Maruti Celerio and Alto AMT’s are well received among customers seeking for tireless drive in jammed up Indian traffic, the AMT version of the practical Wagon R and the stylish Stingray hatchbacks will only make for instant hits. The Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R AMT and Stingray AMT are set to be launched later this month. 3. Maruti Suzuki Swift - 17669 units Leagues ahead of its nearest competitors, Maruti Suzuki has retailed 17,669 units of Swift hatchbacks this past month. India's favourite hatchback has only grown over the years as evident from the fact that over 5,000 units were sold last month compared to 2014 October. Top 10 Selling Cars of October 2015 2. The total number of Swift Dzire cars sold in October are 21,084 which is some miles ahead of rivals in its segment like Amaze, Xcent, Zest and Etios. 1. Maruti Suzuki Alto - 22861 units As ever, the unassailable leader of the October sales chart has been Maruti Suzuki Alto. It's so domineering that none of the closest nemesis in its range will stand a chance of achieving the feats Alto has managed to garner over the years.
