The new-gen Honda CR-V was launched in October last year and comes with many important updates and features
The fifth generation Honda CR-V SUV was launched in India in October 2018 at a starting price of Rs 28.15 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest CR-V is a huge improvement over the earlier model as it now offers a seven-seater layout and even a diesel engine option. But more than that, the new flagship Honda model has many new features that help it rubbing shoulders with some entry-level models from the traditional luxury car marques.
The latest Honda CR-V comes with two engine options – 2.0-litre petrol and 1.6-litre diesel. The petrol engine option produces a maximum power of 152 bhp at 6,500 rpm and a peak torque of 189 Nm at 4,300 rpm. It comes mated to a CVT. There is no manual transmission option.
The diesel engine produces 118 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 300 Nm at 2,000 rpm. It comes mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The CR-V is available in both 2WD and 4WD layouts. Even the diesel engine is available only with an automatic gearbox.
The latest Honda CR-V is loaded with many standard features that make it as loaded as some of the pricier cars. The dashboard carries a 7-inch touchscreen unit that is compatible with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth. However, there is no sat-nav on offer. The infotainment unit also offers a lot of information on vehicle performance and related parameters.
The new Honda CR-V also comes with electric adjustable front seats and wing mirrors, tilt and telescopic adjustable steering wheel, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, dual-zone climate control, premium wood trim, and Honda Lane Watch blind spot monitoring system.
Other than the lane assist system, the new Honda CR-V also offers a suite of safety features such as six-airbags, hill start assist, vehicle stability assist, seatbelt-pre-tensioners, driver attention monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat restraints, and ABS with EBD.
