Jaguar Land Rover has today released a statement announcing the launch of 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol into the 2018 MY lineup of Range Rover Evoque and Discovery Sport. The popular Discovery Sport receives the new engine in two different variants namely SE and HSE.

It can be had at a price tag starting from Rs. 49.20 lakh (ex-showroom, pan india). The Range Rover Evoque, on the other hand, gets the powertrain in SE and HSE Dynamic grades. Its starting price is quoted at Rs. 51.06 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India).

2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport Launched In India - Price, Engine, Specs, Features, InteriorThe new engine in question is all-aluminium unit with 2.0-litre capacity and it is claimed to deliver better fuel economy as well as reduce running costs over the previous versions. No change in engine specifications on both the models though as it produces a maximum power output of 247 bhp and 365 Nm of peak torque.

The new 2.0-litre Ingenium petrol motor is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard. It is not something new to India though, having made its presence in Jaguar XE and Jaguar XF in March 2018, as well as Range Rover Evoque Convertible at the start of the year.

Range-Rover-Evoque-Landmark-2.jpgTo spice up the proceedings, the British luxury automaker has introduced a few new features on the Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque along with the new engine.

They gain Wi-Fi Hotspot with 4G connectivity for up to eight devices and InControl Pro Services providing Route Planner App, Sharing Expected Time of Arrival and Commute Mode. The company says the addition of the powerplant is based on its good acceptance in Range Rover Velar.
