Land Rover introduced Discovery Sport as a replacement model for Freelander 2 which was facing stiff competition from new models. The Discovery Sport is the entry level model of Land Rover and the design theme follows the foot steps of its big brother Discovery. Since the launch, Discovery Sport took over the title of best selling model of the company.
This year Land Rover is celebrating its 70th year anniversary and the Discovery Sport is the most ever sold single model in the history of the British manufacturer. In 2017, Land Rover sold 1,26,078 units of Discovery Sport last year across the world which shows the popularity of the entry level model. Even though it’s an entry level, Land Rover hasn’t skipped anything to cut cost.

The Discovery Sport comes with Land Rover terrain control system which can be programmed depending on the surface to improve traction. Land Rover has used a new platform for Discovery Sport and the company has used lots of aluminium along with high strength steel for the construction which reduces body weight considerably over its predecessor.
All the Land Rover models are 7 seater and the Discovery Sporty is no different as the company has given the option of 7 seats but it will be best suited for 5 people. To celebrate the success story of Discovery Sport, the company has introduced Landmark Edition. The new model comes with lots of styling enhancement to make it more sporty.

The front get new bumper along with unique 19 inch Mantis wheels finish in glossy dark grey finish. Land Rover has given contrasting roof to go with the exterior paint as Graphite Atlas Exterior trim and Carpathin Grey roof. The Landmark edition also comes with three new colours – Narvik Black, Corris Grey and Yulong White.
The interior get ebony grained leather seats and headliner along with aluminium surround on the centre console. Land Rover Discovery Sport Landmark Edition is powered by 2.0 Ingenium series petrol engine with 240 PS and 180 PS for the diesel engine. These engines get particular filters to reduce emissions. The special edition model is priced at Rs. 35.25 lakh in UK.
