Lambretta could be readying to launch its new V50 Speical, V125 Special and V200 Special models in India in the next two years

Indian scooter market is about to see the introduction of three exciting products from iconic scooter brand Lambretta. The Switzerland-based famous company has unveiled its three models V50 Special, V125 Special and V200 Special at the 2017 EICMA in Milan. All these three models are expected to be hit the showrooms in domestic market sometime in 2019 and before that, the company could showcase the scooters at upcoming 2018 New Delhi Auto Expo.

Lambretta is nothing new to Indian market as the scooters from this brand used to be assembled in the country under licence in between the time period of 1950’s and early 90’s. Initially these scooters used to be assembled by Automobile Products of India and later by Scooters India Limited.

However, despite being popular among the buyers, the brand has remained absent from the global market for more than two decades and now it is ready to make a grand comeback. Lambretta will start retailing its new scooters across European market in early 2018 and to the other markets from June.

Speaking about the new scooters, all these three models come as steel bodied and they share same platform. Dimensionally too, they appear identical. All the three models come with modern features like LED headlamps, LED turn indicator and taillights along with digital instrument cluster. They get a 6.5-litre fuel tank as well. Upon arrival, the Lambretta V200 Special is going to be the top premium scooter in the Indian market.
