KTM RC 125 will be launched in India soon and it will share most of the mechanical components with Duke 125

KTM is going to launch the new RC 125 in India soon and the test mule has been already spotted in the public roads earlier last month. The upcoming model will share most of the components with India-spec Duke 125 to keep the price down. KTM already manufacturers the RC 125 for global markets in India but it comes with lots of premium features, which is why it won’t be introduced in India.

The design theme of RC 125 will be similar to other RC models as they are developing a new generation of entry-level RC models, which is expected to be introduced at the EICMA later this year. The new model comes with dual projector headlamps with LED DRLs and the flaring design is similar to the RC 200.

Like most of the RC models, the RC 125 gets clip on-handle bar, which is placed lower and rear set foot pegs for an aggressive riding stance. The RC 125 come with split seat up in which the pillion seat is placed slightly higher. The rear gets LED tail lamps and the fender design is also carried over from the RC 200.

The instrument cluster is vertically placed and it gives lots of information like speedometer, tachometer, time, odometer, trip meter, engine temperature and more. The RC 125 gets upside down forks at the front and mono-suspension at the rear, which is tuned for excellent handling rather than comfort.

KTM RC 125 is powered by the same engine from Duke 125 as the 124.7 cc single cylinder engine with fuel injection produces 14.3 bhp of power at 9,250 rpm and 12 Nm at 8,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and it might not come with fancy features like slipper clutch as pricing is going to be very important for the success.

The braking duties are taken care off by 300 mm disc at the front and 270 mm disc at the rear with single-channel ABS braking system and rear-wheel lift protection sensor. The performance bike gets 17-inch wheels with 110/70 section tyre at the front and 150/60 section tyre at the rear. KTM is expected to price RC 125 at a slight premium above Duke 125.
