The KTM 790 Adventure and Adventure R will be arriving on the Indian shores towards the second half of 2019 reportedly
KTM will most probably introduce the middleweight naked roadster the 790 Duke within the next month in India. While we are still waiting for the official confirmation, a report has revealed few interesting details about the 790 Adventure. According to the report, KTM will most probably launch the 790 Adventure in India towards the end of 2019.
The report also suggests that the Austrian two-wheeler manufacturer will also likely push the launch of the much awaited 390 Adventure ahead to launch the 790 Adventure in India. We have already informed you that that KTM is still testing the 390 Adventure while the 790 Adventure, on the other hand, is almost ready to be launched in the international market.
What is interesting is also the fact that KTM has even announced the prices of the upcoming 790 Adventure for the European and US markets already. The motorcycle is available in two variants the base 790 Adventure retails at USD 12,499 (Rs 8.87 lakh approx), and the 790 Adventure R variant has been priced at USD 13,499 (Rs 9.59 lakh approx).
Both the 790 Adventure and the 790 Adventure R will be launched in India via the CKD route (the levers and panels will be sourced locally). The motorcycle will be powered by the same 799cc, LC8c, parallel-twin unit which also powers the Duke 790 as well. This engine produces about 95 Bhp of peak power.
The unit is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and it also gets a slipper clutch as standard. As expected, the 790 Adventure will also feature a host of electronic aids like the ride-by-wire throttle, different riding modes, multi-level traction control system and a switchable ABS. The top spec R variant, on the other hand, gets an additional Rally mode.
Moreover, the Adventure R will also get an optional quick-shifter and top-notch suspension hardware from WP. The KTM 790 Adventure duo will be positioned above the Duke 790 and will compete directly against the likes of the popular Triumph Tiger 800, Honda Africa twin and the Ducati Multistrada 950 in India.
