KTM has plans to unveil the much anticipated 390 Adventure at the 2019 EICMA Motorcycle show
Only recently we have reported that production ready KTM 390 Adventure was spotted while testing. We have also informed that the much-anticipated motorcycle will probably make its global debut at the 2019 EICMA motorcycle show. Now there is a fair chance that KTM will most likely launch the 390 Adventure in India in December making India the first country to get the motorcycle.
The upcoming motorcycle will be produced at the Chakan plant and will be exported to the other markets of the world. In order to deal with the high demands of the motorcycle, the company is also planning to add an additional assembly line for this bike at the same plant.
The production-ready KTM 390 Adventure motorcycle which was spotted takes its design clues from the 790 Adventure. However, it will be based on the current 390 Duke architecture. The upcoming adventure tourer is expected to use an updated version of the 373cc, single-cylinder, DOHC, liquid-cooled, fuel injected unit that powers the current generation, 390 Duke.
The engine paired with a 6-speed gearbox produces about 43 Bhp of peak power at 9,500 rpm and 35 Nm of peak torque at 7,000 rpm. The same engine will be retuned and will also get a revised gear ratio for offroad use. The test mule was also spotted with a new exhaust and catalytic converter which will help the updated engine to meet the stricter BS VI emission regulations.
The test mule that was spotted earlier featured a long suspension travel and cast alloy wheels in a 19-inch front and 17 inch rear configuration. The top spec R version, on the other hand, will likely sport a bigger 21-inch spoke wheels and an 18 inch rear spoke wheels.
The motorcycle will likely also feature a full TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, a switchable ABS system, and some other additional features as well. Once launched the KTM 390 Adventure will rival directly against the likes of the BMW G310 GS and the Royal Enfield Himalayan.
