KTM 390 Duke-Based ADV And 790 Duke Launch Timeframe Revealed

Austrian manufacturer KTM is going aggressive on the Indian plans, the manufacturer will soon launch the all-new KTM 390 Duke based ADV and the mid-size 790 Duke in the Indian market

KTM is one popular brand in the Indian market and the 390 Duke is one of the best-sellers here. There is a great enthusiast-following for KTM in India and the Austrian manufacturer will soon be launching two much-awaited bikes in the Indian market. KTM will launch the 390 Duke based 390 ADV in 2019. It will also launch the biggest Duke ever for the Indian market in the form of 790 Duke. KTM announced the launch of the 390 ADV in the Indian market sometime back.

Just before the launch of the BMW GS 310 in the Indian market, KTM officially announced that they will launch the all-new 390 ADV by 2019. It has now surfaced that KTM will announce the launch date of the 390 ADV by March 2019 and the actual launch would happen by the end of this year. 

The KTM 390 ADV is based on the 390 Duke and shares a lot of parts with the bike but it will get a different chassis, different handlebar, different wheels and many more such changes. Mechanically, it will remain similar to the 390 Duke.

KTM is also working to bring in the mid-range 790 Duke in the Indian market. KTM is currently working to source parts of the bike locally so that it can be produced in the Indian market and get a competitive price tag. The KTM 790 Duke would come as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit in the Indian market and would be priced at around Rs. 7 lakhs.

The 799cc, parallel-twin engine of the KTM 790 Duke produces a maximum power of 150 PS at 9,500 rpm and a peak torque of 86 Nm at 8,000 rpm. It gets a 6-speed transmission with slipper clutch that powers the rear wheel. The KTM 790 Duke would take on the likes of Triumph Street Triple in the Indian market.
