KTM 390 Adventure production version likely to be showcased at 2019 EICMA motorcycle show, India launch expected later this year
We have some good news for our readers today. After a lot of anticipation and wait, the final production-ready 390 Adventure was spotted recently while testing and it takes its design inspiration from the 790 Adventure that was unveiled at the EICMA motorcycle show last year. According to the reports, the motorcycle will be launched towards the end of 2019 and it will rival directly against the likes of the BMW G310GS, Royal Enfield Himalayan and the Kawasaki Versys X-300.
KTM 390 Adventure will be powered by the same 373cc unit that also powers the 390 Duke however, it will be tweaked to meet the needs of an adventure tourer. The report also states that the tweaked engine will also power the new generation Duke that will be launched next year. The tweaked engine will offer sufficient torque at lower rpm’s to make sure that the motorcycle does not struggle while pulling the pillion and additional load of luggage mounted at the rear of the motorcycle during long trips.
That said, you can also notice that the production-ready 390 Adventure was also spotted wearing a new catalytic converter, which will help the unit to comply with the Euro-V and stricter Euro VI emission norms alongside the upcoming BS-VI emission norms that will come into effect from April 2020 onward.
The production-ready motorcycle also spotted wearing a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cast wheels while we have also seen in earlier test mule wearing a 21-inch front and a 17-inch spoke rear wheels. This means that KTM will launch a road biased tourer alongside the more offroad biased R variant. Both these motorcycles will be manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan plant in Pune that also produces the KTM Duke and the RC series motorcycles.
Besides all that the motorcycle will also be equipped with plenty of modern features including an advanced TFT instrument cluster and perhaps different ride modes as well. The motorcycle will also get optional luggage options as well which will be offered under KTM power parts. We are hopeful that KTM will surely unveil the production-ready KTM 390 Adventure at the 2019 EICMA motorcycle show.
