Just like Bajaj-KTM shares the engines of 200 Duke with Pulsar 200 and Dominar 400 with 390 Duke, the all-new Pulsar’s engine would be shared with 250 Duke as per report

There is no doubt in the fact that the Bajaj Pulsar has become an iconic band. It has been around for more than a decade now and there is a range of motorcycles under the Pulsar brand in India.

However, it has been long since the Indian manufacturer added a new product under the Pulsar brand. Bajaj is currently working to upgrade the current line-up to match the upcoming emission and safety rules and is also planning to add a new model under the Pulsar brand.

According to a report, Bajaj is in its early stage to develop the all-new Pulsar 250 for the Indian market and it could be the successor of NS200. The all-new bike would get a liquid-cooled engine derived from the KTM 250 Duke.

Bajaj already uses the KTM’s 200cc and 373cc derived engines for their own products like the Pulsar 200 and the Dominar. The same strategy would stand true for the KTM’s 249cc engine. The liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine would get all the Bajaj’s typical features including the triple-spark technology.

The power output would be re-tuned and it would produce a lower power than the KTM’s engine. The same engine produces a maximum of 30 PS and 24 Nm in the 250 Duke. It will be a BS VI compliant engine.

Just like the KTM 250 Duke, a six-speed transmission would be standard with the Bajaj Pulsar 250. However, it remains to be seen if it will get a slipper clutch. Bajaj has always been a value-for-money product and to maintain the affordable price, they may just omit a few features. Bajaj will launch the bike well beyond the April 2019 deadline for mandatory ABS, which means the all-new Pulsar 250 is expected to get ABS, which most likely will be a dual-channel.

A price tag of around Rs. 1.25 lakhs can be expected on the Pulsar 250, which is well below KTM’s product. In the recent future, Bajaj will also launch the new Dominar 400, which will get added features and updated looks.
