Kia will officially start accepting the bookings of the Seltos SUV online and through dealerships at a token amount of Rs 25000
Kia Motors, the well-known South-Korean auto brand will officially start accepting the bookings of the Seltos mid-SUV on 16th July, 2019 at a token amount of Rs 25000. Kia will officially open few dealerships from 15th July, 2019 as well, the names of which were recently revealed in a report. Kia earlier announced to launch 265 touchpoints by 2020 to start their India innings. The world’s 8th largest automaker recently revealed the Seltos at a global premiere in Delhi.
Showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo as the SP2 concept, the Seltos name has been inspired by Greek mythology and the legend of Celtos, the son of Greek god Hercules. Kia will launch the Seltos SUV on 22nd August, 2019 and will manufacture the car at the company’s Andhra Pradesh based facility. The dealership brochure of the Kia Seltos has also leaked ahead of the start of the official bookings.
As per the leaked document, a list of multiple dealerships in top cities such as Delhi, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Pune have been revealed. Locations of Kia dealerships in various states such as Rajasthan, Kerala, Gujarat, Punjab, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal have also been provided.
Kia Seltos is packed with many interesting and segment first features such as UVO connected technology with 37 smart features, 8.0-inch Head up display, 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated & power adjustable seats, Bose 8-speaker system, sunroof and ambient mood lighting.
Mechanically, the Seltos SUV will come with a choice of three BS6-compliant engines – a 1.5-litre 115 hp diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque converter; a 1.5-litre petrol engine with 115 hp output offered with a 6-speed manual and CVT options and a first-in-segment 140hp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol with direct injection GT Line engine mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
Kia Seltos will compete against the likes of Hyundai Creta, upcoming Maruti Suzuki Creta, Tata Harrier and MG Hector among others. Kia Seltos is expected to get a price range of Rs 11-17 lakh (ex-showroom).
