Kia Seltos will launch in India on August 22 and has already garnered over 6,046 bookings
Recently, we told you that the Kia Seltos has managed to garner over 6,000 bookings in the first day of the opening of the order book. The Seltos will launch on August 22 and will become the first product from the second-largest-selling South Korean carmaker in India. The company will begin its innings from 160 dealerships.
In the latest development, we have found out that the first lot of the upcoming MG Hector rival has already started reaching the dealerships. The Kia Seltos can be booked for a token amount of Rs 25,000. The Seltos made its world debut at an official event in Delhi-NCR last month and has already gone on sale in its home market.
In India, the new model will be sold in GT Line and Tech line trims and will be made available with 8 monotone and 5 dual-tone paint options. The buyers will get to choose from 3 engine and 4 transmission options. Recently, Kia even revealed the interior images of its upcoming SUV.
The Kia Seltos will offer a rather premium cabin that will be replete with many segment-leading features, including 37 smart features through UVO connected technology, 8.0-inch HUD< 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, ventilated seats, electric-powered front seats, a high-end Bose 8-speaker audio unit, and mood lighting.
Like we said, the Kia Seltos will be available with three engine options. All the motors will be BS-VI compliant and will be available with both manual and automatic transmission options. Basically, there will be will two petrol and a single diesel engine. All the motors are likely to offer a good mix of economy and performance.
The base petrol engine for the Kia Seltos will be a 1.5-litre motor that will output a maximum power of 115 bhp and will be available with a 6-speed manual transmission and a CVT. The diesel motor will also displace 1.5-litre and have a power output of 115 bhp. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic ‘box.
The top-of-the-line option will be that of a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol motor that will output a maximum power of 140 hp and will be available with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Kia Seltos started life as the Kia SP2 concept, which made its world debut at the last year’s Delhi Auto Expo. In India, the new SUV will be seen locking horns with SUVs like the MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Hyundai Creta and even the Mahindra XUV500. Prices of the new model are likely to start at Rs 11 lakh* and go all the way to Rs 17 lakh* mark.
