Kia has gained more than 100 bookings through this CSD programme; the first owner, Major General Vikal Sahni, takes delivery of his Seltos
Kia India has announced today that it is entering into CSD operations as a registered seller as it commits to the enhanced accessibility of Defense personnel in the country. The South Korean auto major has revealed to have gained more than 100 bookings through this programme and the customer deliveries will soon commence.
The Kia Sonet compact SUV and Carens MPV’s deliveries will begin across authorised dealerships present in India. At an event in Frontier Kia, Gurugram, Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales & Business Officer of Kia India, handed over the keys of the Seltos to its owner, Major General Vikal Sahni. He said:
“The Defense Personnel of India are true heroes, and we at Kia India are honoured to be able to serve them with this new initiative. This is yet another milestone in our journey and a humble initiative to partner with our men and women in uniform for their immense contribution to safeguarding this great nation. Commencement of CSD delivery is a promising move to do our bit for the real-life heroes and to introduce them to an exciting world of Kia which inspires everyone. We’re thankful to our first valued customer, Major General Vikal Sahni, for bestowing faith in our Seltos, which marked the commencement of the Kia India journey.”
The brand has started delivery of Seltos from CSD in its first phase while other models will be delivered soon through dealerships as mentioned above. Kia began mass production in August 2019 and has an estimated annual production capacity of three lakh units at its manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
Kia currently sells five models in India: the Seltos, the Carnival, the Sonet, the Carens and the EV6. It has completed over 6.3 lakh dispatches from its production unit including five lakh domestic sales and more than 1.3 lakh in exports. The company has a large footprint of 339 touchpoints across the country.
The Seltos midsize SUV is one of the popular models in its segment while the Carens introduced just over a year ago has also been well received. The Sonet is a top-selling compact SUV in India as well.
