Kawasaki Z800 is an aggressive streetfighter by the Kawasaki Motorcycles. Introduced in 2013 the mean machine was rumored to be brought in India through CKD route recently, which the company has denied. Earlier this year in January the Japanese motorcycle manufacturer slashed the price of the Z800 motorcycle by Rs. 50000 which put the final price tag at Rs. 8.3 lakh (ex showroom, Delhi). If India Kawasaki Motors decide to bring the motorcycle through CKD route, it will eventually cut the price by around Rs. 1 lakh thanks to higher localization. But, as it seems, there is no such plan.

Presently, the Kawasaki Z800 is brought in India through CBU route. The India Kawasaki Motors reveals that they don’t have any plan to import the motorcycle through CKD route. First introduced in 2013 the motorcycle is the ancestor of the Kawasaki Z750 and based on a tubular steel frame. The motorcycle is powered by an 806 cc four cylinder liquid cooled DOHC engine which is paired with a 6 speed transmission and churns out 111 hp of peak power at 10200 rpm and 83 Nm of peak torque at 8000 rpm. It delivers 17 kmpl of fuel economy.
