The Japanese manufacturer is not losing hope on Ninja 300 as they are planning to increase localisation to bring down the price

Kawasaki introduced Ninja 300 in India as a replacement for aging Ninja 250 in 2013. From the get go, Ninja 300 was always priced higher for a 300 cc motorcycle even though it is the most affordable twin cylinder bike in the country. Over the years, competition has moved on with the likes of KTM RC 390 and recently launched TVS Apache RR 310 which is selling more than both RC and Ninja.

Kawasaki introduced Ninja 400 in April at Rs. 4.69 lakh (Ex-Showroom) and the new model is in a different league compared to Ninja 300. In most of the market, new model replaced Ninja 300 but in India, the company is keeping both models and the price gap between them are small which is creating confusion for customers and eventually they opting for other brands.

2017 Kawasaki Ninja 300 1The Japanese manufacturer is not losing hope on Ninja 300 as they are planning to increase localisation to bring down the price. The company has already informed local ventors about the project and the components which will be locally manufactured are body parts, lights, wiring, battery and some internal components of engine.

Kawasaki will also source alloywheels and tyres locally to further drop price. We are expecting the company to price Ninja 300 close to KTM RC 390 and it is expected to be priced around Rs. 2.5-2.7 lakh (Ex-Showroom) with on-road price of around Rs. 3.2 lakh which makes the Ninja 300 much cheaper than the current model which is priced at Rs. 3.6 lakh (on-road).

Even though company has time, they might introduce ABS with this update or wait till the deadline to introduce ABS system as part of model year update.
