Kawasaki KLX450R And KX450F Launched In India

While KLX450R makes entry as most expensive dirt bike currently on sale in India, the KX450F is slightly cheaper with more agility

Kawasaki has just launched two dirt bikes in the Indian two-wheeler market that go by the name KLX450R and KX450F. The KLX450R has been priced in India at Rs. 8.49 lakh, making it the most expensive dirt bike that you can buy here. On the other hand, the Kawasaki KX450F will set you back by Rs. 7.97 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom, Delhi).

Starting off with the Kawasaki KLX450R, the motorcycle has been positioned as an enduro motorcycle designed to be ridden on forests, deserts and trails. The Kawasaki KLX450R is powered by a 499cc, single cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that gets a carburetor for fuel supply. The suspension system of this motorcycle comprises of 48mm upside down forks at the front along with a monoshock at the rear.

As far as braking is concerned, the new KLX450R gets its stopping done with the help of a 250mm disc brake upfront along with a 240m disc unit at the rear. The Kawasaki KLX450R has been assisted with a fuel tank having 8 litre capacity. The bike has a total kerb weight of just 126 kgs. Prime highlights of this motorcycle include an LED tail light, an easy electric starter and full digital instrument cluster that packs in a clock as well.

On the other hand, the Kawasaki KX450F is more of a proper competition bike and is known for its agility and lightweight nature. The bike sits on a perimeter frame and is an improvement over the previous model.

The new Kawasaki KX450F comes powered by a 499cc, liquid-cooled, single cylinder engine that gets a DOHC set up. Gearbox is a five-speed unit. The braking duties are taken care of with the help of single 270mm disc brake upfront along with 240mm disc for the rear. The motorcycle has been fitted with a 6 litre fuel tank and accounts for a total kerb weight of 108 kgs.
