John Abraham gets Nissan GT-R and is reported to have built a new air conditioned garage for his new addition to the expensive fleet

The pre-booking for the 2017 Nissan GT-R sportscar for the Indian market was announced in September as the customers need to deposit an initial amount of Rs. 25 lakh. With the market launch set for next month, the highly-renowned flagship model from the Japanese brand is expected to be priced at around Rs. 2 crore.

As part of advertising the range expansion, Nissan announced Bollywood star John Abraham as the brand ambassador for the X-Trail Hybrid SUV and the GT-R back at the Auto Expo 2016 in February. Amidst the fast-approaching launch of the GT-R, it has been reported by Bollywood Hungama that the brand ambassador himself has got hold of the raging sportscar. John, whose passion for automobiles is well known, has taken special attention over it and built a new air conditioned garage for the new baby.

Nissan unveiled the facelifted GT-R at the 2016 New York International Auto Show in March. With sizeable upgrades since making debuting in 2007, the new GT-R is the most track-focussed and hardcore production car ever to be made by Nissan. The aerodynamics obsessed sportscar has tamed some of the toughest race tracks in the world including the Nurburgring.

The GT-R, fondly referred as ‘Godzilla’, is practical and can launch off the line as good as any dedicated hyper cars. Its downforce levels have been revered to the point that they make it a ground hugger. It is gracing India following the launch of Ford’s Mustang but price-wise they will have larger differences.

2017 Nissan GT-R-2

The 2017MY GT-R comprises of revised mesh pattern for the dark-chrome signature V motion grille, redesigned canards, reinforcements hood and carbonfibre front bumper while the new hood generates more downforce and improve aerodynamic efficiency. On the inside, there is a larger eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system updated for further convenience with less number of dials on the dashboard. It boasts new Display Command Control located on the carbonfibre made center console.

It has restyled dashboard, flappy paddle shifters, restyled dashboard layout, leather-covered Recaro carbonfibre bucket seats with Alcantara touches and wrapped multi-function steering wheel finished in Alcantara. Underneath, the Nissan GT-R will comes with a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V6 that makes 570 PS at 6,800 rpm and 637 Nm of torque and can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 2.8 seconds.
