JLR Sold Over Four Lakh Units Globally In 2017; Registers 28% Growth In China

JLR registered 28% YoY sales hike in China; global sales increased by 8% driven by high demands for Jaguar F-Pace

Jaguar Land Rover has registered 401,565 units of cars globally in the first eight months of 2017. The company marked an 8% sales hike in the calendar year to date, compared to 2016. The large contributor behind this sales surge is the Jaguar F-Pace, winner of the 2017 World Car of the Year and Women’s Car of the Year awards.

Launching innovative product line up with refreshed design and ultra-modern high-end advanced technologies are paying well. The Range Rover has seen demands shot up to 11%, while the Jaguar XFL (long wheelbase model) in China registered pretty high demand, resulting the overall global sales of the Jaguar XF hiked by 15% compared to last year. China is playing a major role for the brand’s increasing global sales.

This is a well known fact that the premium luxury cars and long wheelbase models have pretty high demand in China. All the luxury carmakers try to grab a sizeable chunk in the Chinese market as it is not only the biggest auto market in the world, it is also the biggest luxury car market. Jaguar Land Rover too has understood that and acting accordingly.

The British marquee registered 28% YoY sales growth in China, while in North America, it recorded 13% sales surge. In Europe and in its home country the Tata Motors owned automaker registered 1% and 4% sales growth respectively. Inspired by the success of the new models, the company is planning to invest more than £4 billion in developing new advanced products, high-end next generation technologies. The annual manufacturing capacity will be increased as well in order to increase the sales further. Apart from that, it is also focusing on electric powertrains that are to be debuted from 2020.

At the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, Jaguar Land Rover showcased several new models that are Land Rover Discovery SVX, Jaguar XE Project 8, Jaguar XJR575, Jaguar I-Pace eTrophy and Jaguar XF Sportbrake.
