After the success of Jeep Compass in India, Fiat Chrysler is expected to launch its highly popular Renegade
Fiat Chrysler India’s Jeep brand officially entered the Indian market with the Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Wrangler. However, the steep prices on the CBU models kept the Jeep enthusiasts miffed for a long time. But soon, Jeep launched the all-new Compass in the Indian market and it changed quite a lot of the brand.
The Compass became the best-selling car of the while FCA group and managed to settle in at a respective monthly sales figure too. On seeing the popularity of the Compass, many expected that the more affordable Jeep Renegade would be launched in the Indian market.
While there was no formal announcement done by the brand, many speculated that Jeep will soon launch the Renegade to capture the rising popularity of the brand in India. It has now been reported that the current generation of the Jeep Renegade would not be launched in India.
However, the speculations do not rule out the launch of the all-new next-generation Renegade in the Indian market. Jeep is working on a sub-4-meter SUV specifically for the Indian market to take advantage of the small car rule in the country. That is expected to be launched by 2022.
Jeep is also working to launch the Jeep Compass Trailhawk, which would offer a 4WD diesel automatic in the Indian market. The Trailhawk is also much more capable and carries a longer list of equipment when compared to the regular models. There are a few other models that will be launched by Jeep in the Indian market soon.
Jeep has updated the Wrangler in the international market and it would be launched in the Indian market next year. Jeep will also launch India-spec Jeep Grand Commander, which is currently only available in the Chinese market. The Grand Commander is a seven-seater SUV that takes on the likes of Toyota Fortuner in the Indian market.
