Jeep Grand Wagoneer is going to become the flagship SUV from the brand; it will come with three-row seating layout
Jeep is working on its flagship three-row SUV that is to be called as Grand Wagoneer. As we reported earlier, the SUV is expected to be launched in mid 2019. Now, the patent drawings of this SUV have been leaked online previewing the upcoming car. Interestingly, the big premium SUV’s patent drawings come similar with the Yuntu plug-in hybrid concept displayed at 2017 Shanghai Motor Show.
Considering the fact that Jeep is focusing on Chinese market to grow globally, it is highly possible that the Grand Wagoneer will be initially launched in China. This seven-seater SUV is unlikely to launch in Indian market. Speaking about its design, the car carries contemporary Jeep design theme and it appears with similar design elements that are visible in its other models.
The signature Jeep front grille with teeth like appearance flanked by headlamps sporting LED projector lamps are there. Apart from that, it also boasts a muscular front bumper. The squarish wheel arches are there and at the back it gets a roof spoiler, wraparound taillights and chunky bumper.
Interestingly, the SUV comes with low approach and departure angles. These indicate that the upcoming Jeep Grand Wagoneer would appear different compared to its siblings, in terms of off-roading. If it arrives in Indian market, we would see it locking horns with rivals like Skoda Kodiaq. However, high pricing is going to be an issue for the car to be successful in the domestic market.

Presently, Jeep sells three SUVs in India that are the Grand Cherokee, Wrangler and Compass. Initially, the company introduced Grand Cherokee and Wrangler. But, as the company understood the high pricing is going to affect the business, it introduced Compass, which is currently the most affordable Jeep SUV here. Jeep India is also gearing up to launch the Renegade in India. Upon arrival, it is going to be the cheapest offering from the iconic American brand in India.
