Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk official images leaked; could hit Indian roads in 2017

Jeep revived and leaked official images of their new version of Grand Cherokee and it will be known as the “Trailhawk”. The Trailhawk will be launched in 2017 and the Grand Cherokee will be a full size urban SUV.

It will be powered by a 707 hp hellcat unit which is the most powerful form of engine offered for a full size SUV with more emphasising towards off-roading abilities.

For now, Jeep has not released pricing for “Trailhawk” trim but the price of current model goes from $30,000 (nearly 20 lakh rupees) to $ 65,000 (just over 43 lakh rupees) for SRT trim.

Trailhawk trim comes up with a set of bulky tyres which are wrapped around black smoked five spokes alloys which also give sporty performance, more ground clearance and more comfortable drive with around 1” or 2” inch lift. Front comes with a honey comb design with a chrome grille and a Jeep Badge on top. Also “Trailhawk” gets a classy manly look with muscle all around the body specially the bold bonnet with lot of curves on it.

Inside the Grand Cherokee “Trailhawk” gets full black interior with red stitching all around from seats to door panels and arm rest. Though jeep has not revealed any information but from images we can see what the “Trailhawk” is powered by and the infotainment system which is chrome covered and follows till the gearbox and Air Conditioning vents.

Jeep has revealed that their Grand Cherokee unveiled in 2016 Auto Expo will be powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine and it produces 237hp of maximum power output and is coupled with a ZF sourced eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Grand Cherokee will be battling against BMW X3, Audi Q5, Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Mercedes Benz GLE in the luxury SUV segment.

Jeep is also launching wrangler which will be powered by a 2.8-litre four cylinder engine and comprises of a four door version. Both cars will be manufactured In India and may hit roads by 2017.
