Jeep Compass Trailhawk To Get 9-Speed AT In India – Officially Confirmed

Jeep Compass Trailhawk India Launch

The 2019 Jeep Compass Trailhawk will likely go on sale in June and is the most off-road capable variant within the range

On the official website, Jeep India has listed the long expected range-topping Trailhawk variant of the Compass and confirmed the presence of nine-speed automatic transmission coupled with the diesel engine. The Compass is currently priced between Rs. 15.60 lakh and Rs. 23.11 lakh (ex-showroom) and the new top-of-the-line variant will have a substantial increase in pricing over the rest due to the exterior, mechanical and interior updates.

The 2019 Jeep Compass Trailhawk could cost around Rs. 27 lakh (ex-showroom) and we already have a good idea of what it will boast upon arrival. The arrival of the Trailhawk is part of the American brand’s push to steady the ship as the Compass’ sales numbers are apparently falling in the last several months.

Expected to go on sale in June, the Compass Trailhawk comes with some unique features that are not available in the regular range. The off-road oriented model is Trail Rated and has raised ground clearance of about 20 mm courtesy of the tuned suspension for while the exterior adorns Trail Rated badging, new 17-inch alloy wheels with dual tone shade, red recovery hook at the rear, grey window surrounds, hood decal and so on.

It gets Jeep’s Selec Terrain system with the inclusion of Rock mode besides Active Drive Low 4×4 system with 20:1 crawl ratio. The domestic-spec Compass Trailhawk features an 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, seven-inch colour multi-info display, sunroof, red contrast accents, etc.

The cosmetic changes do make the Trailhawk stand apart from the regular version of the Compass. As for the powertrain, the 2.0-litre Multijet II four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine is upgraded to meet BSVI compliance and it produces 173 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque. It will be connected to an all-new nine-speed automatic transmission exclusive for the Trailhawk spec Compass.
