Jeep Compass Trailhawk is finally close to launching in India, it will become the new range-topping model with the expected starting price of Rs 25 lakh
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk is certainly taking a long time to launch in India. However, it looks like Jeep India is finally ready to launch the new range-topping model in July this year. The more capable version of the famous SUV should have an ex-showroom price of roughly Rs 25 lakh.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk is a more rugged version of the company’s popular mid-size SUV. It has an increased ground clearance of 216 mm and offers an approach angle of 30 degrees along with a departure angle of 33.6 degrees.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk measures 4,398 mm in length, 2,033 mm in width, and 1,529 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,636 mm, which is exactly the same as that of the regular version. The styling, however, gets various changes that come together to give this model a more premium look. Usage of black decals, a ruby-red-painted set of tow hooks, and dark grey accents on the hood improve the overall looks.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk features silver-painted skid plates at front and rear. These are not just visual elements but are even high on functionality as they protect the underside of the SUV while it drives over the obstacles. The side profile gets a new set of alloy wheels, while the rear gets LED tail lamps, a new bumper and an integrated spoiler.
On the inside, the Jeep Compass Trailhawk comes with a new colour scheme that freshens up the cabin. The premium SUV comes with many features, including a large touchscreen infotainment unit that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, reverse camera with parking sensors and automatic headlamps.
The Jeep Compass Trailhawk is powered by the same 2.0-litre diesel engine that powers regular version. It produces a maximum power of 173 PS and a peak torque of 350 Nm. The motor comes mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, which means the new model will mark the debut of the automatic gearbox in the diesel-powered Compass. The new model will offer Jeep Active Low 4×4 system.
