Jeep officially launched Compass Longitude (O) at Rs. 18.90 lakh and it comes with lots of premium features along with automatic transmission as standard
Jeep Compass Petrol Longitude (O) officially launched in India at Rs. 18.90 lakh (Ex-Showroom). The petrol model of Compass was earlier available in either Sport, which is the entry-level model or the top-spec Limited and Limited Plus. The new Longitude (O) is priced at a premium of Rs. 3.5 lakh over the entry-level Sport variant.
The company is offering the mid-spec variant with lots of features like 17-inch alloy wheels, push-button start, passive key, projector halogen headlamps, LED position lamps, roof rails, front and rear fog lamps, power folding exterior mirrors, reverse parking sensors, 7-inch touch screen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 6-speaker, rear parcel shelf and activated Carbon air filter.
The top end model offers additional features like leather seater, dual-tone exterior (optional), Bi-Xenon HID headlamps, leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather seats. The Compass Longitude comes with safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, four disc brakes, traction control and stability control.
The petrol variant of Compass is powered by 1.4 L MultiAir turbocharged engine producing 160 hp of power at 3,750 rpm and 250 Nm of torque at 1,750 rpm. The Longitude variant gets 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission as standard while the 6-speed manual gearbox with petrol engine option combination is available only with entry-level Sport variant.
The petrol automatic variant returns 14.1 kmpl while the manual variant returns slightly higher 14.3 kmpl. Jeep is yet to offer four-wheel drive system with a petrol engine in India as it comes with diesel engine only. The Compass petrol engine is now available in six variants – Sport, Longitude, Longitude (O), Limited, Limited (O) and Limited Plus.
Jeep is planning to expand the Compass lineup with new Trailhawk variant along with diesel automatic transmission, which has been delayed for a very long time. The Compass diesel is powered by 2.0 L unit producing 173 hp and comes mated to 6-speed manual gearbox. Jeep Compass price starts at Rs.15.40 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs. 22.90 lakh (Ex-Showroom).
