The Jeep Compass Black Pack will become one of the three new variants for the popular premium SUV

While the entire country has been waiting for the Trailhawk variant of the Jeep Compass premium SUV, FCA India has line up not one, not two, but three new variants for an imminent launch. The first of these is the Jeep Compass Black Pack, which will be the first these three upcoming variants, will get a handful of cosmetic updates.

As you must have guessed from the name, the Jeep Compass Black Pack gets several black-painted bits. The highlights of these include a black roof, black mirrors, black alloy wheels, and an all-black leather interior. Other than these cosmetic updates, the Compass is unlikely to get any mechanical change.

The Jeep Compass Black Pack will be launched by the end of this month, which should help Jeep India find more buyers during this year’s festive season. The Black Pack will be a limited edition variant and will be based on an existing trim.

Jeep India also plans to launch a higher variant for the Compass. Dubbed as the Limited Plus, this variant will get some new features, including an electric sunroof, powered driver’s seat, and a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Even the Limited Plus trim will be launched during this year’s festive season.

As for the Trailhawk variant, it will launch only early next year. The Trailhawk will be a better off-roader than the Limited 4×4 model. It gets revised bumpers, which lead to 30-degree approach angle, 24.4-degree breakover angle, and 33.6-degree departure angle. These are higher figures than the ones offered by the regular Compass.

The Trailhawk also gets the company’s low-range Active Drive 4WD system and 20 mm of additional ground clearance.It could also finally mark the debut of the 9-speed automatic transmission for the India-spec Compass diesel.
