JBM Low Floor Bus is made in collaboration with European manufacturer BredaMenarinibus (BMB)
If you didn’t know about what and who JBM is and what they did in the past you are mostly right. JBM was part supplier to various companies in the past and still is to brands such as Maruti Suzuki as the JBM is based out in Manesar, Delhi. The Bus which you see here is the firm’s first attempt at making commercial vehicles and was unveiled last year at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014.
The bus called Citylife is being manufactured in Faridabad (Haryana) and Kosi (UP). Price of the bus is yet to be decided but the company says they have invested 500 crores in making the bus and pricing will be competitive for sure.
Bus is indigenously developed in partnership by renowned European bus maker BredaMenarinibus (BMB). To boost passenger safety and comfort of the bus, it will have cantilever seats, armrests and more room for standing passengers. The bus has been designed keeping in mind the Indian traffic and weather conditions. A monocoque structure has been adopted to ensure maximum strength and minimum weight, matching European standards for safety in case of any kind of collision such as front/side or rollover accidents. Additional safety is provided through five large diameter detachable cylinders with an automatic valve close in case of leakage has also been insured.

The Gearbox is an Automatic Transmission with inbuilt retarder and all wheel disk brakes which have dual circuit with a full air system with EBS and ABS with EBD as standard. Entry and exits include passenger doors, one in the front and one in the middle and the type of doors are In-swing type on both doors.
