Based on the feedback of the consumers and the media, Jawa officials have decided to introduce a rear disc brake and dual-channel ABS setup on their recently launched motorcycles in Q2 2019

According to the recent reports, Jawa official said that they will equip both of their recently introduced motorcycles with a rear disc brake and dual-channel ABS setup in Q2 (April-June) 2019. Both the Jawa and the Forty two rivals the Royal Enfield 350cc range of motorcycles which now gets a dual channel ABS safety feature.

The prices for the entry level Jawa Forty two starts at Rs 1,55 Lakhs while the Jawa classic is priced at Rs 1,63 Lakhs (ex showroom). However, the inclusion of a rear disc brake and ABS also means that the prices of these motorcycles will also go up by at least Rs 10,000-15,000.

Although both the Jawa motorcycles already comply with the soon to be introduced Government safety norms as both of them already features a single channel ABS unit, but the absence of a rear disc brakes and a dual channel ABS setup hasn’t gone too well with the new generation customers and motorcycle enthusiasts.

So Jawa has taken feedback from their potential customers as well as media and based on those inputs has decided to add a dual channel ABS setup to these motorcycles soon. There is a possibility that Jawa could perhaps sell both the single channel as well a dual channel ABS variant of the motorcycle together in the near future.

As a matter of fact, the Jawa Perak Bobber already was equipped with a rear disc brake and dual-channel ABS when it was showcased for the first time during the time of the launch event back in November. Coming back to the motorcycles, the recently introduced Jawa as well as the Jawa Forty two are powered by the same 293 cc, liquid-cooled, 4-valve motor.

This engine produces around 27 bhp of peak power and 28 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. Like already mentioned above both the motorcycle gets a retro styling approach and rivals directly with the RE Classic and Thunderbird 350 range of motorcycles.
