Jawa Perak gets powered by a 334 cc liquid-cooled engine developing 30 bhp and 31 Nm torque; has unique features like cantilever seat

On November 15, Classic Legends announced the revival of the Jawa brand by launching three promising motorcycles. The Jawa Perak is arguably the more distinct of the three and it has been priced at Rs. 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). With the stunning pricing, it has become the most affordable bobber in the country and since it’s not production ready yet, customers can only lay their hands on the motorcycle by the middle of next year.

On the first glance, you won’t be mistaken for thinking that the Perak is an aftermarket custom job as it does look gorgeous as an one-off. However, it is a factory built custom bobber for the descending Jawa customers and is sure to create a niche on its own.

It boasts round-shaped headlamps and a unique fuel tank with the handlebar being wide and positioned high for relaxed riding stance. The bar-end mirrors add a neat touch to the Perak and the cantilever seat portrays the peculiar bobber character with an exposed rear end.

Unlike the namesake Jawa and Forty Two that are positioned as the entry-level models, the Perak has a monoshock rear suspension underneath the seat and to accommodate that the swingarm has been modified bringing a hard tail outlook. It is built on the same double cradle chassis as the other two motorcycles but is devoid of rear sub-frame and has subtle modifications.

It is not identical to the Jawa and Forty Two in the powertrain department as well. The Jawa Perak uses the same engine platform but the regular 293 cc engine faces larger bore to have 334 cc capacity for more power and torque outputs. The single-cylinder liquid-cooled DOHC fuel-injected unit produces a maximum power output of 30 bhp and 31 Nm of peak torque and is connected to a six-speed transmission.

The spoked wheels, semi digital instrument console and dark colour theme carried all around the motorcycle infuse more glamour into the Perak and it will come equipped with dual-channel ABS system as standard fitment.
