Initially, the launch of the Jawa Perak was scheduled to happen in June this. It would have become the most expensive Jawa motorcycle in India

The resurrected motorcycle company Jawa made a comeback in the Indian market in 2018. The iconic bike maker initiated its new innings with the launch of two retro motorcycles – Jawa Classic and Jawa 42. At the time of the launch, the bike maker even unveiled a bobber motorcycle called Jawa Perak.

The Jawa Perak was initially scheduled to launch around June this year. However, it is being said that the company currently wishes to focus on the Classic and the 42, which will lead to a delay in the launch of the bobber motorcycle. The launch of the Jawa Perak is now likely to happen around the end of the current year.

The bobber motorcycle is powered by a bigger (334cc) version of the 293cc motor that powers the Jawa 42 and Classic. The bigger engine produces a maximum power of 30 bhp and a peak torque of 31 Nm. It will come paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. Both the versions of the Jawa engine are based on the Mahindra Mojo’s 295cc motor.

The Jawa Perak comes with a distinct Bobber look, which makes it look much more desirable than the other two motorcycles in the company’s lineup. While the standard bikes are equipped with twin gas-charged shock absorbers at the rear, the Perak uses a monoshock for a cleaner look.

The Jawa Classic and Jawa 42 recently received dual-channel ABS to come in line with the upcoming safety regulations. The same system will be found even on the Jawa Perak. At the time of the unveil, it was revealed that the Jawa Perak will cost Rs 1.89 lakh (ex-showroom).

However, the company could launch its flagship product at a slightly higher price point due to various economic factors. Still, once launched, the Jawa Perak will be the most affordable Bobber motorcycle officially on sale in the country.
