Jawa Motorcycle officially introduced rear disc dual channel ABS variant of Jawa and Forty Two at a premium of Rs. 8,942 over the regular model
Jawa Motorcycles launched Jawa Classic and Jawa Forty Two in India last month. The bookings were officially opened through the official website and these motorcycles were offered with disc brake at front and drum at the rear with single channel ABS system but enthusiasts and media were disappointed due to the lack of rear disc brakes.
Now the company has officially introduced Jawa and Forty Two with rear disc brakes and dual-channel ABS system, these new variants come at an additional price of Rs. 8,942. The deliveries of dual-channel ABS variant will begin only in June 2019 and customers who have booked the non-ABS model can opt for this new variant without any change in booking amount.
Even though the company claims that the base variant with disc and drum brake set up has been tested extensively and it has passed various brake testing conditions like asphalt (high Mu) and basalt (Low Mu) surface. During media rides, most of the journalists pointed out that rear drum brake lock up easily and the introduction rear disc brake will solve this.
Classic Legends is planning to open more than 100 dealerships of Jawa Motorcycles across the country. The company has also announced the exchange program as they have partnered with Mahindra First Choice Wheels and it will be available in all the dealerships across the country.
To make it easier for customers to own Jawa Motorcycles, the company has tied up with various finance partners like HDFC Bank, Tata Captial, ICICI Bank, Mahindra Finance, Capital First (now IDFC Bank), L&T Finance Limited, Hinduja Leyland Finance along with regional partners to offer best in class finance schemes.
Jawa and Forty Two are powered by same 293 cc, liquid cooled, single cylinder, DOHC, fuel injected engine producing 27 bhp of power and 28 Nm of torque, this engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the engine is tuned for cruising with excellent mid-range. The dual exhaust is tuned to offer same punchy exhaust note as old motorcycles and they compete against Royal Enfield Classic series.
