Isuzu To Launch 2018 MU-X Facelift (Toyota Fortuner Rival) On October 16

The MU-X facelift model might retain the same 3.0 L turbocharged engine from the current model but this engine will be updated to meet BSVI emission norms

Isuzu MU-X facelift to be launched in India on October 16 and the updated made its global debut last year. The MU-X facelift model gets new bold grille along with updated bumper and LED DRLs integrated into the projector headlamp cluster. The fog lamp housing is also new and the changes give a fresh look for the SUV.

The side design continues to be the same except for new multi-spoke alloy wheels and the tail lamp gets LEDs along with new bumper at the rear. Isuzu has focused on improving the premium feel of the interior as the new model comes with beige and black colour combination instead of all black finish on the current model.

The dashboard and door pads also get the faux wood trim to lift the cabin feel and silver finish on the centre console and steering wheel. The company replaced the outdated 7-inch touch screen system with a new 8-inch unit, which comes with connectivity options like Bluetooth and smartphone mirroring.

Isuzu might introduce some new features to further increase the appeal of MU-X and the current model comes with climate control, leather seats, cruise control, reverse camera with parking sensors, keyless entry, push-button start, steering mounted controls and more.

The MU-X get safety features like dual airbags, ABS, Electronic Brake Assist (EBA), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), Hill Start Assist (HAS) and disc brakes at front and rear for excellent braking.

Even though international model comes with 1.99 L and 2.5 L diesel engine, the India spec model will retain the current 3.0 L turbocharged unit and the company has made some tweaks to make it BSVI compliant. This engine puts out 176 PS and 380 NM, the power will be sent to all four wheels via 5 speed automatic gearbox and the company might increase the price also.
