India's Most Powerful Maxi Scooter X-Town 300i Launched

The 22KYMCO X-Town 300i ABS is the country’s most powerful Maxi styled scooter and will be manufactured in India at company’s Haryana based facility

Taiwan based Kymco Group, known for manufacturing two-wheelers recently announced the partnership with Indian startup 22 Motors. 22 Motors earlier launched the Flow electric scooter in India. Now with Kymco, the newly setup company is called 22KYMCO and has launched three new products in India, all of which will be manufactured in India at the company’s Bhiwadi, Haryana plant equipped with an annual production capacity of 200,000 units.

The first product launched is the all-electric iFlow scooter based on the Flow scooter from 22 Motors and is priced at Rs 90,000 (on-road Delhi). The second is called Like200, a 200 cc scooter priced at Rs 1.3 Lakh (on-road Delhi). However, the highlight of the launch event was the X-Town 300i ABS Maxi styled scooter priced at Rs 2.3 Lakh (on-road Delhi).

The X-Town, with the launch in India, becomes the country’s most powerful Maxi scooter. While India is big on scooters, Maxi scooter, a large, more adventure and sporty version of scooters is yet to make inroads in India. Currently only Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is available as a Maxi Scooter option.

Design wise, the 22Kymco X-Town 300i ABS gets a wide body, a large windscreen, dual headlights and large leather seats for touring purpose. The X-Town 300i ABS is powered by a 276 cc single cylinder, liquid cooled, fuel injected engine producing 24.5 bhp and 25 Nm of output. The engine is mated to a CVT gearbox. The scooter weighs 181 kg.

Maxi X-Town 300i Launched

As for the 22KYMCO, the two-wheeler maker will expand in India in a phased manner. The brand will start with markets like New Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Ahmedabad and aims to build a pan India dealership network with 300 touch points. Currently, there’s no competitor to the 22KYMCO X-Town 300i ABS in India.
