Toyota C-HR is expected to make India debut at 2018 Delhi Auto Expo; sold 117,299 units in Japan in 2017

Toyota C-HR is all set to make its India debut at upcoming 2018 New Delhi Auto Expo next month. Before that, the sporty SUV has achieved a new feat in Toyota’s home market Japan, where the brand registered 117,299 units in 2017 for this car. With this impressive sales record, Toyota C-HR became the bestselling SUV in Japanese domestic market.

Toyota C-HR comes with distinctive styling that catches attention at the very first glimpse. It looks sporty and ready to hit the dirt at the same time. Not only a stylish and eye-catching sculpted design, Toyota has also equipped this SUV with top notch features inside the cabin and the powertrain of this car is also well capable to deliver an impressive performance.

While we are eagerly waiting for the Toyota C-HR to arrive in India, it is unlikely to come with identical features as the Japanese market-spec model. In its home market, the automaker sells the SUV with Toyota Safety Sense P suite as standard. This safety suite includes Pre-Collision Safety, Active Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Warning along with Automatic High Beam.

India-spec Toyota C-HR could get a 1.5-litre dual VVT-I petrol engine. Also, there could be a diesel motor on offer as well. What’s more interesting, the SUV could receive a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated engine coupled with an electric motor generated by a battery pack. This hybrid powertrain equipped Toyota C-HR is also expected to arrive in India. Speaking about transmission options, Toyota C-HR would get a 5-speed manual gearbox and there will be a CVT as well.

However, we can only learn more about the car in coming weeks. Expect the car to be priced competitive in the Indian market. It could arrive bearing a price tags ranging between Rs. 13 lakh and Rs. 18 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Toyota C-HR is certainly an interesting product that is ready to enter Indian market. With its premium sporty stance, this SUV will surely grab attention of many buyers here. Also, it will boost the Japanese automaker’s sales figure in the country market.
