India-Bound Skoda Superb Facelift Teased For The First Time

The debut of Skoda Superb facelift will take place later this month at the 2019 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship

Skoda has officially released the first teaser of Superb facelift ahead of the debut later this month and the design sketch reveals the changes on the front. The changes in the facelift model are subtle as the bi-xenon headlamps have been replaced by new full-LED units and the design theme is similar to the earlier model. The signature front grille is slightly wider and extends towards headlamps.

The company has tweaked the front bumper as the fog lamps design is new and a chrome strip connects both fog lamps, which gives a wider look for the Superb. The side design is carried over from the current model except for the new alloy wheels. The rear gets a new bumper along with updated LED tail lamps.

Like most of the recent Skoda models, the logo at the boot will be replaced by Skoda lettering, which gives a unique look for the rear of Superb. The interior is expected to carry forward the same design theme as the current model but the infotainment system will be updated as the company will offer up to a 9.2-inch screen on the top-spec model.

The third generation modular infotainment system comes with integrated e-SIM, which will help the car to be connected to the internet always as connected car technology is going to be the next big revolution in the automotive industry. Along with this, the Superb will also come with a big 11.7 inch fully digital instrument cluster.

Skoda might offer the interior with new colour options and the sedan will be packed with features like leather seats, sunroof, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, park assist, 360-degree camera, automatic headlamps, electric driver seat and more. The safety features include 7 or 8 airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, ESP and more.

The Superb will the first model from Skoda to come with plug-in hybrid tech as it will be powered by 1.4 L TSI engine with 154 PS and 115 PS electric motor, the combined output of both engines is 215 PS. In pure EV mode, the range of Superb is 55 km and it will be also available with a new range of petrol and diesel engines.
