2017 Ford EcoSport Facelift will come incorporated with updated exterior, interior and mechanical changes
Ford EcoSport is the most popular compact SUV in Indian market at present, and the butch looking American SUV is all set to receive a facelift. A test mule of the 2017 Ford EcoSport has been spotted in Brazil again, which suggests the car will sport a revamped front fascia despite heavy camouflage. The India bound 2017 Ford EcoSport will not only adorn changes at exterior, but the interior will also come revised and the car will receive new engine as well. The 2017 Ford EcoSport is scheduled to be unveiled at the 2016 Sao Paulo Auto Show later in November.
The spyshot of the test mule spotted in Brazil has camouflaged front and rear fascia, while the side profile remain uncovered. The car is expected to come featuring new set of headlamp clusters, revised front grille and fog lamps. Presently the Ford EcoSport gets sharp wrap around headlamps and hexagonal front grille with chrome slated appearance; expect the facelift EcoSport to adorn more aggressive fascia.
While designing the new facelift EcoSport the American auto manufacturer might take design cues from the Ford Edge and new generation Ford Endeavour, which has been revised completely. The side profile of the facelift Ford EcoSport remains unchanged, as the spyshot suggests the same muscular appearance. The rear profile of the facelift Ford EcoSport will also bear changes in form of new taillamps, revamped rear bumper.
Although the European spec EcoSport doesn’t sport the spare wheel at the rear door, the India spec facelift EcoSport would continue to sport the spare wheel at the tailgate. The biggest change inside the cabin of the 2017 Ford EcoSport will be the centre console, as unlike the outgoing model the facelift edition will get more stylish and squarish centre console with Ford SYNC 2 infotainment system which will receive colour display. The instrument cluster will receive change as well with the HVAC controls also new in there.
Mechanically, the 1.0 litre EcoBoost petrol engine, which is the most popular unit; is expected to continue in the facelift edition as well. The outgoing model is available with other engine options like 1.5 litre Ti-VCT petrol and 1.5 litre TDCi diesel engines. The facelift edition is expected to receive an all new 1.5 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine from the Dragon family, which will churn out around 130 hp of peak power.
