India-Bound Audi Q2 SUV Displayed at 2017 BIMS

Audi Q2 SUV is the smallest in the Q range taking design inspiration from Q3; expected to be launched in India later this year

Audi Q2 has been one of the most talked about luxury SUVs of recent time. Unveiled at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, the Q2 is the youngest model in the German luxury automaker’s Q range of SUVs. Now the small SUV has made its appearance at the ongoing 2017 Bangkok International Motor Show in two different colours, Yellow and Red.

The Audi Q2 comes taking design inspiration from its bigger sibling Q3. It is expected to arrive in the Indian market sometime later this year. It incorporates a very attractive and muscular design. Up front, the car sports a large and bold front grille with chrome detailing, sharp headlamps with LED projector headlamps and integrated LED daytime running lights. The front bumper looks chunky with wide air intake.

The sporty alloy wheels, floating roof design, turn indicator integrated ORVMs, blackened cladding are the features visible at the side profile, while the rear fascia sports LED taillights, a roof spoiler and a muscular bumper as well. The skid plates at front and rear emphasise on its tough character. Overall, the Audi Q2 is very stylish and sporty looking car and bears the premiumness of the Q lineup.

Inside the cabin of the Audi Q2, it gets leather wrapped multi-function steering wheel, Audi virtual cockpit with 12.3-inch TFT display, a lifted MMI touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, circular AC vents and an overall blackened theme enhance the appeal further.

The small SUV is available with four different engine options including 115 PS 1.0-litre TSI petrol unit, a 150 PS 1.4-litre TSI petrol unit, a 115 PS 1.6-litre TDI diesel engine and a 150 PS 2.0-litre TDI diesel motor. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 7-speed DSG automatic unit as well. It is offered with both FWD and AWD configurations. There will be three different trims available for the Audi Q2. The small SUV is already on sale in UK, priced from 20,230 pounds, which is equivalent to Rs. 18.29 lakh.
