The 2019 Toyota Camry hybrid, which is India-bound and should launch here in the first half of next year, has just made its world debut at the ongoing Paris Motor Show 2018. The new Camry for Europe looks almost exactly like the North American version.
You get a bold front fascia and a sleek grille just above a huge air dam, a design feature of most Toyota models. The headlamps are LED units and look stunning. The window line rises sharply towards the rear and car has “protruding shoulders”. The rear has LED taillights and an integrated spoiler on the trunk lid.

Talking about the interior, there is a three-spoke steering wheel and a stylish instrument cluster with a seven-inch multi-information colour display. The dashboard is made up of soft-touch plastics and gets piano black accents. The infotainment system has an 8-inch touchscreen. There’s also a 10-inch head-up display.
The 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid has a really long list of safety and driver assistance features, which includes Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic High Beam Assist, Lane Departure Alert, Road Sign Assist and a Pre-Collision System. You also get an optional Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
Powering the 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 215 hp. The company is yet to reveal the entire specifications but the electric motor of the hybrid powertrain should develop 118 hp and 202 Nm.
In India, the 2019 Toyota Camry hybrid will rival a range of expensive sedans like the Volkswagen Passat, Skoda Superb and Honda Accord. Indirectly, it will also compete with entry-level luxury offerings from luxury carmakers like Audi, BMW and Mercedes. Its highlight will be of course the hybrid system, which will have a combination of refinement, fuel efficiency and a high technology on offer.
